When I was a kid my mom had a typewriter that I would sometimes use for fun. I thought it would be cool to have a keyboard sort of like a typewriter so I simply looked online for some key caps.
Luckily I found these on Amazon for $30, which also fit my current keyboard. Actually my keyboard just happened to be a budget mechanical keyboard with switches equivalent to the Cherry MX Blue, therefore made a very similar feeling to the type writer albeit with less actuation distance. The keyboard that I got was a reduced size Redragon K552-N KUMARA from Amazon also for $30.
Originally, the keyboard had some branding beside the caps and numlock LED's so I decided to cover it with some carbon fiber vinyl wrap I had laying around. Below in the slideshow you can see a comparison of the original keyboard and the keyboard with switched key caps.
- Compatible Keyboard (Redragon K552-N KUMARA)
- Typewriter key caps
- Optional: Carbon fiber vinyl to cover branding
*Note: It is important to measure out the special key cap dimensions given in their description and compare it to the ones you have
